Changes to Test Ships – Closed Test 12.4

Based on testing results, we’re applying changes to Asturias, Cataluña, Andalucía, Castilla, Schill, Novosibirsk, Halford, West Virginia ’44, Devastation, Jäger, Muavenet, Stord, Grom, Split, S-1, L-20, and K-1, as well as to the unique upgrades for Petropavlovsk and Manfred von Richthofen.

For readability, similar changes across different ships have been moved under the spoiler.

We've removed the bonuses to AP shell penetration and damage when using Burst Fire on Spanish cruisers, as well as reduced its reload time. Thanks to this, players will be able to deal damage more evenly throughout the battle.

 Changes to Spanish Cruisers

Tier VII-X Spanish cruisers

  • The burst fire bonuses to AP shell penetration and damage have been removed.

Spanish cruiser Asturias, Tier VII

  • Burst fire cooldown time reduced: 45 to 27 s.

Spanish cruiser Cataluña, Tier VIII

  • Burst fire cooldown time reduced: 40 to 25 s.

Spanish cruiser Andalucía, Tier IX

  • Burst fire cooldown time reduced: 35 to 31.5 s.

Spanish cruiser Castilla, Tier X

  • Burst fire cooldown time reduced: 30 to 28.5 s.

German cruiser Schill, Tier VIII

  • Main battery reload time increased: 16.5 to 18.1 s.

Soviet super cruiser Novosibirsk

  • AP shell fuse delay reduced.
    • The ship will now score fewer overpenetrations

British super battleship Devastation

  • Sigma value reduced: 1.8 to 1.7

American destroyer Halford, Tier IX

  • Added the “Engine Cooling” consumable to the attack aircraft squadron
  • Detectability range by sea reduced: 7.9 to 7.5 km.
    • All other types of detectability reduced accordingly

American battleship West Virginia ’44, Tier VII

  • Main battery firing range reduced: 17.5 to 17.1 km.
  • Main battery reload time reduced: 30 to 27 s.
  • Sigma value increased: 1.7 to 1.8
  • Shells have more arcing ballistics
  • Main battery shell penetration reduced
  • Secondary battery reload time reduced: 4 to 2.5 s.
  • Detectability range by sea reduced 15.2 to 14 km.
    • All other types of detectability reduced accordingly
  • Acceleration parameters changed: now more similar to Vermont
    • Removed the ability to mount the “Propulsion Modification 1” upgrade.
  • “Repair Party” consumable parameters changed: now more similar to Vermont
  • Added the “Defensive AA Fire” consumable

The purpose of these changes is to emphasize West Virginia '44's role as a close combat brawler and distance its gameplay from Colorado. To achieve this, her concealment, maneuverability, and survivability have been improved, as well as the air defense and secondary battery firing rate. At the same time, the effectiveness of the main battery at long distances was decreased by reducing the firing range and changing the parameters of ballistics and armor penetration.

European destroyer ger, Tier IX

  • Maximum torpedo damage reduced: 10,700 to 7,533

European destroyer Muavenet, Tier V

  • Torpedo range increased: 6 to 7 km.
  • Detectability range by air increased: 2.6 to 2.7 km.

European destroyer Stord, Tier VI

  • Torpedo range increased: 6 to 7.5 km.

European destroyer Grom, Tier VII

  • Torpedo range increased: 6 to 7.5 km.
  • Detectability range by sea increased: 7 to 7.21 km.
    • All other types of detectability increased accordingly

European destroyer Split, Tier VIII

  • Detectability range by sea reduced: 8.9 to 8.5 km.
    • All other types of detectability reduced accordingly

For Update 12.4, we made a large number of changes to the characteristics of Soviet submarines. Despite the extensive list of changes, the overall effectiveness of these submarines will increase by about 10%. We expect that this will allow them to reach the same level of combat effectiveness as the submarines of other nations.
